Meadow pipit

The meadow pipit (Anthus pratensis) has become a rare species in Northrhein-Westphalia. It breeds on the ground and prefers open, relatively tree- and shrubless areas, like heather or moors.

The part areas „Eselsbett“ and „Schwarzes Bruch“ host regularly several breeding pairs of this endangered bird species.
